Volunteer With SCORE
SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur accounting and the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide. SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S Small Business Administration (SBA).
SCORE has 389 chapters in locations throughout the United States and its territories, with 11,500 volunteers nationwide. Local chapters provide free counseling and low-cost workshops in their communities. Both working and retired executives and business owners donate their time and expertise as business counselors. SCORE was founded in 1964.
The local SCORE chapter, Westmoreland County Chapter 555, serves hundreds of clients each year, counseling them both in person and by e-mail. It also conducts numerous workshops for aspiring entrepreneurs.
Located at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Westmoreland County Chapter 555 is staffed with over 40 men and women volunteers with diverse backgrounds and business experience in marketing, production, sales, engineering, research, law, medicine, education and finance. It serves all of Westmoreland County and part of Indiana County in helping new business start-ups as well as existing businesses.
If you have real-world business experience and would like to share that experience with others, contact Westmoreland County Chapter 555 to volunteer.
